About

I'm forever reading, writing, learning, and talking about what I'm learning. I'm a mental health advocate and unrepentant "bad meditator." One of my many missions is to make mindfulness accessible - especially for those of us facing overwhelm, pain, and crisis.  I am also a social entrepreneur, writer, performer, broad-spectrum doula, crisis support person, and therapist-in-training.

I completed my first master's degree at Goldsmiths, University of London in Postcolonial Culture and Global Policy. I wrote a thesis that combined my love for both comedy and postcolonial theory, exploring how historical discourses on "political correctness" and Islamophobia played into the election of Donald Trump.  I am apparently one of the world's few political correctness scholars! I'm now completing my second masters in Counselling Psychology to serve communities historically ignored or over-pathologized by the psychological community.

My TEDx talk is about mental illness stigma and how stigma plays into, and creates, our expectations of mental illness trajectories. Please watch and share it here. CW: suicide, psychosis, mental illness.

My partner and I are working on a food inventory tracking app for small food vendors, which we hope can put a significant dent in the food waste crisis. It will also make tracking software affordable, for the first time, for small food businesses in this challenging time. You can find out more about Stockt App here and here.

For doula, communications, and mindfulness services, please get in touch and I would love to chat about how I can support you or your organization.
